Today, we joined community partners to officially cut the ribbon on Grand Central Suites on Central Street, bringing new apartment homes to the center of our city. It’s great to see continued investment in downtown and more opportunities for people to live, work, and enjoy everything Manchester has to offer.

Beautiful morning at City Hall for Manchester’s Haitian Flag Raising in celebration of Haitian Flag Day. May 18 marks the creation of the Haitian flag in 1803 and serves as an important opportunity to recognize Haitian history, culture, and the many contributions of Manchester’s Haitian community. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this morning’s ceremony.

Thank you to @KellyAyotte, Chief Marr, and law enforcement leaders from across New Hampshire for joining us this morning to discuss bail reform. The results are clear: these reforms have made our communities safer. Public safety and the protection of victims must remain the priority, and this law has given law enforcement stronger tools to address violent and repeat offenders.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Hillsborough County Recovery Court graduation ceremony. This ceremony was especially meaningful as New Hampshire celebrated its 1,000th Recovery Court graduate statewide, highlighting the life changing impact these programs have had on individuals and families. Congratulations to all ten graduates whose hard work, perseverance, and courage brought them to this moment. Manchester is proud to celebrate alongside you. Photo Credits: Jeffery Hastings.

It was great to join students, staff, and community partners for the opening of the new Outdoor Classroom at McLaughlin Middle School. This new space will give students an opportunity to learn outdoors while exploring STEM, nature, and the environment in a hands on way. Thanks to the partnership between SNHU, the Manchester Department of Parks and Recreation, along with the dedication of Mr. David Elliot, Principal Kelly Williams, and many hardworking students and volunteers, this vision became a reality. This is a tremendous addition to the McLaughlin community and a space that students will enjoy and learn from for many years to come.

During National Police Week, we honor the brave men and women of law enforcement who put service above self each and every day. Our police officers are true heroes who work tirelessly to protect our community, answer the call in moments of crisis, and stand watch over our city with courage, integrity, and commitment. Thank you to all our officers for the sacrifices you make for Manchester. We are deeply grateful for your service.

I had the pleasure of joining hundreds of bright young students at the New Hampshire Drinking Water Festival. It was incredible to see these kids come together to learn about clean, safe, drinking water and take part in fun, hands-on science activities. Thank you to all of the volunteers, teachers, and organizers who helped make the event a success. Congratulations to the Manchester students who were recognized as winners in the science fair. We are proud of you and your hard work!

Attended an NHIOP event at Saint Anselm College with HUD and EPA leaders to discuss housing in Northern New England. In Manchester, we’re focused on one goal: safe, affordable housing, working with partners to reduce red tape while protecting our communities. Appreciated the opportunity to connect with federal partners and discuss real solutions. Thank you to HUD Regional Administrator Mike Banks and EPA Regional Administrator Mark Sanborn for their leadership.

Manchester is proud to welcome home our very own, Ryan and Nina Day. Ryan and his family returned to the Queen City to host a powerful conversation on the importance of mental health. In partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Kids Mental Health Foundation, they created a space that reminded our young people they are not alone. Hearing Ryan speak with students was incredibly impactful. His message was honest, heartfelt, and one that will stay with these students. Thanks Coach and Nina Day!

I’m excited to announce a new partnership between the City of Manchester and the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester to strengthen our response to homelessness, substance use disorder, and mental health challenges. Together, we’re creating a centralized, one-stop model to connect individuals with care faster and more efficiently. With support from Granite United Way, we’re enhancing on-site services at the Aged and Infirmed Shelter and Engagement Center. This effort is about making our system work better, breaking the cycle of homelessness, and helping people move toward stability. Please read more below.

Today, our City was privileged to honor Chief Andy Parent for his decades of selfless service to the City of Manchester. His impact will be forever felt within the Department and throughout our community. A dedicated leader, mentor, and public servant, Chief Parent leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Our prayers are with his family, loved ones, and the entire Manchester Fire Department. Rest in peace, Chief.

Thank you @KellyAyotte and our partners in the Legislature for your leadership in strengthening New Hampshire’s bail system. The safety of our City is non-negotiable, and this effort has undeniably made us safer. We will continue working closely with our local, state, and federal partners to further reduce crime, and protect our residents, businesses, and visitors.
Governor Kelly Ayotte@KellyAyotte

A year after I signed a bipartisan law to fix our broken bail system, the results are clear: our new law is protecting victims, stopping repeat offenders, and keeping dangerous criminals off our streets. Together, we’re keeping New Hampshire the safest state in the nation.
