Poor mental health in the #Deafcommunity is so common. Getting the appropriate help is extremely difficult. Therapist often talk in a low whisper tone. There aren't many therapist that use use #signlanguage. There aren't many #deaftherapists. #MentalHealthMatters

In 2017 I wrote this in @SocietyGuardian on lunch shaming of school kids in the US. theguardian.com/society/commen… This is where demonising people in poverty - including children - can lead. I write about it in my book The Shame Game. Access to #FreeSchoolMeals without stigma is vital.
