Diversity and inclusion is so much more than just hiring a melanated face. IT IS NOT ENOUGH to hire Black/minority candidates when you offer no real type of support and protection for them at your institution.

Black MATCH 2022 applicants a word of advice: if your top programs are lacking melanin, think long and hard about if you want to be the only Black resident in that program; especially if they don't have Black faculty. Yes, you MATCH there this year but that doesn't mean 1/2
