To all of you who have found me because of this very benign tweet that somehow went viral, 1) I think all playoff systems are stupid and 2) I would have said this if it were USC, Cal, LSU, or anyone else and it has nothing to do with UCLA. I am VERY consistent on hating playoffs.

My family and friends don't watch soccer. They watched the USMNT at this World Cup. The same is true for so many people in the United States. Their lasting impression will be a team that never once looked like they could hang with Belgium. What an unbelievable shame.

This is capricious and shady at best and outright corrupt at worst. Glad it helps the US in this tournament, and I thought the red card was bullshit to begin with, but I think this will hurt the credibility of the sport going forward. Seismic moment regardless of the game outcome
