Friday recap story 2: Michigan Republicans Out-raise and Outpace Dems. Again. Michigan Senate Republicans just set another fundraising record, reporting more than $6.1 million cash-on-hand heading into 2026 and out-raising Senate Democrats yet again. Republicans pulled in over $900K last quarter alone, extending their cash advantage to $1.3 million. Even in the minority, the GOP message is clearly resonating, while Democrats are left defending a costly record, and voters aren’t buying.

Senator @KevinHertel skipped plenty of votes yesterday, but made sure to show up today to fight for men in girls sports.

Senator @kevinhertel is sure hiding from a lot of tough votes today. Why is he afraid of showing his district what he believes in? This image is a product of AI, but him purposely skipping votes is real- and lacks intelligence!

“We have the policies, the candidates, and the momentum. Now we have the record fundraising numbers to match,” said Sen Outman, SRCC Finance Chair. “Thanks to the hard work of our fundraising team, we have raised more, and have more cash-on-hand, than at this point last cycle.”

Despite serving in the minority, the Senate Republican Campaign Committee reported $4.7 million in cash-on-hand after the first quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, the Michigan Senate Democratic Fund reported a cash-on-hand balance of only $4 million, nearly $600,000 behind the R'S.
