CENTCOM has planned for Hormuz for years. The commentary ignores how military campaigns actually work. You do not rush escorts into a high-threat corridor before first dismantling the missile, drone, and naval capabilities that make escorts vulnerable. First comes degradation of Iranian offensive power; then comes the maritime phase. Whether we can win the Battle for Hormuz is uncertain. But the idea the military didn’t plan for it is absurd.
