𝗦𝗬𝗥𝗜𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗜𝗦𝗥𝗔𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗔 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗭𝗕𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗛 According to Israeli media reports, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is coordinating with Israel and is expected to strike Hezbollah positions along the Lebanese–Syrian border, particularly in the Bekaa Valley. Al-Sharaa , also known as Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, appears to be positioning his forces in a way that would directly serve Israel’s strategic objective of weakening Hezbollah. By targeting Hezbollah along the eastern Lebanese frontier, such a move would effectively open a second front against the group, forcing it to divide its attention and resources between the Israeli front in the south and a new pressure point along the Syrian border. This development also says a great deal about the nature of the Syrian war and the relationships that emerged during it. Al-Jolani rose to prominence as the leader of Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria and has long been associated with jihadist networks that also intersected with factions linked to ISIS. Reports of coordination with Israel reinforce accusations that these forces have always operated in ways that served Israeli strategic interests.
