Last Saturday, our members were treated to a fascinating joint talk by two cultural historians, Sir Christopher Frayling and Prof. Jeffrey Richards. They considered Ruskin’s often caricatured representation on celluloid, and the ways in which this has affected his reputation.

Magdalene Fellow @MJWaithe has written a book with Honorary Fellow, the letter cutter and typographer Lida Cardozo Kindersley, entitled Words Made Stone: The Craft and Philosophy of Letter Cutting.

The photos show King Charles III receiving a copy from Lida in front of two green slates cut by the Cardozo Kindersley Workshop for a quaker burial ground in Milton Keynes.

Congratulations to Dr Stuart Eagles @A_Ruskinian & Prof Robert Hewison @RuskinToday who were awarded an honorary membership of The Ruskin Society. As a token of their status they received a walnut paperweight personally cast from pewter by our chair Dr Marcus Waithe @MJWaithe
