@lkgclockwork @chryco4 Same issue I had and the reason I dropped the team. You’re fighting an uphill battle into the most popular comp in the format. I think Occa Berry Corviknight could be a solution, especially in Bo1 closed teamsheet.

Well somehow I’ve managed to go 9-0 in the Grand Champions Festival so far! I had a great time playing and might need to buy a heart rate monitor with how close these matches are… Here’s hoping I can keep the momentum up in Day 2 of the largest VGC tournament ever!

So they reworked it, just not in the way I was hoping… Hopefully there are additions changes to help out stores, or the requirement of it being tied to a game store is lifted to allow spaces like libraries to be used instead due to better internet stability. Not looking great🫠

It is going to be a massive miss from Pokémon to release Champions and not rework how their local tournaments work. I live within an hour of one of the largest cities in the U.S. and have 1-2 tournaments PER MONTH I can attend. Something needs to change to capture new players!

@BlubVGC @wellspringmask I think all it means is that instead of individually intimidating both sides of the field, your Incineroar/whoever just intimidates both enemies at once. You still should be able to differentiate between your intimidator and your opponents (hopefully)

@Dimsunlight @playpokemon I 100% am also feeling skeptical, I want to know more about how the membership or passes benefit the consumer. If buying the membership offsets the crazy grind then it’s not too bad. It also definitely seems to strongly favor people who own previous games to transfer mons in….

It’ll never happen… BUT A show match on Pokemon Champions between Wolfey and another popular content creator (Cybertron or a foreign creator) a week or two before it releases would actually feed families. If his GC videos are getting millions of views, the potential is there!

Has anyone had any luck contacting Pokemon support regarding the Ace Trainer Promo card? I changed my address to reflect my current one in early January and haven’t received my 2025 card yet, which leads me to believe I was too late. Support told me today that cards are (1/2)

@snoopy369 We had that in previous seasons but the change to limiting repeat store hosting potential really killed it. I should definitely put in more effort and reach out to card shops though, there’s gotta be a few that are open to hosting but don’t understand VG

@MLBDVGC Be the difference! We have a VG Cup every weekend - two some weekends - in SF Bay Area because of the work of several people in the community to build the community and drive demand. Store owners see revenue and thus support tournaments.

Maybe a little corny but I wish there was more of a team/org culture in NA VGC similar to how EU is Even if there’s no financial benefits to being part of a team, it would be cool to have teammates to root for/a group to represent. The scene in its current state is very cliquey.
