We are deeply saddened by the passing of three-time All-Star outfielder Garret Anderson, who was 53. Anderson played 17 seasons in the Majors, including 15 in Anaheim with the @Angels, where he still holds many of the franchise’s offensive records. He hit .300 with 13 RBI in 16 Postseason games in 2002, including a clutch Game 7 performance en route to the franchise’s first-ever World Series title. In 2003 All-Star Week in Chicago, Garret joined Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. (1991) as the only players to win the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game MVP in the same season. We are deeply saddened by the passing of three-time All-Star Phil Garner, who was 76. "Scrap Iron" played 16 seasons in the Majors with the @Athletics, @Pirates, @astros, @Dodgers and @SFGiants, and batted .472 during the 1979 Postseason en route to Pittsburgh's World Championship. We are deeply saddened by the passing of four-time All-Star Davey Lopes, who was 80. Known for his speed, Lopes led the NL twice in stolen bases and ranks 26th all-time with 557 career stolen bases. The 1981 World Series Champion appeared in four Fall Classics with the @Dodgers during a 16-year playing career which preceded 30 years of coaching in the Major Leagues, including a managerial stint with the @Brewers from 2000-02.
