@IFLH23 Oh oh I remember this one! I mean yeah, "shining city on a hill" and stuff so of course I think American values are better. But if another country adopts a culture, that's on them. Nobody is making you do it like some cultural victory condition in a game of Civ lol

And Vista was weird because it wasn't actually universally hated. Microsoft lied about minimum requirements so more PCs got a sticker. The love/hate depended on if your PC was actually equipped to handle it or not. Still a Microsoft fail, but there were people who liked it

There are "best Windows" charts floating around with some real weird takes. This tweet's what I remember. 95 was an incredible leap. 98 was fine. I ended up using 2000 instead of XP because it was all the benefits with none of the junk.

Pretty close. 3.1 was great for what it was, but Windows 95 was the peak of DOS-based Windows. NT4 or 2000 was the peak of NT. XP came close to 2000 but was severely hobbled by IE6, the Fisher Price UI, and accumulated bloat.

this has to be bait right? because it's deranged to ask everyone to pay for something they don't want so a company making all the wrong decisions gets another shot. this is the "too big to fail" mentality we see everywhere, only with shaming gamers into doing the bailouts
