M’Lop Tapang

Today our ChildSafe team visited Koh Tuch village on Koh Rong Sanloem to lead an awareness session on child labor. About 23 families took part. We talked through how child labor exploitation happens, how to spot it, and what families can do when they see it.

We welcomed a senior branch manager from Mohanokor Microfinance, Sihanoukville branch, as a guest speaker for our Vocational Training students this afternoon. He shared his career experience and what has kept him motivated. Thank you to Mohanokor for the visit!

Sandan students and staff are learning coffee-making tips and techniques from the experienced baristas at Seabreeze, our ChildSafe partner. Thanks for coming to Sandan!

Today our social work technical advisor is leading training on our case management system. The system is now more standardized and consistent, which is key to delivering quality care and support to all the children, youth, families, and communities we work with.

Music, circus, & art are just a few of the activities our children & youth take part in every day through our Non-Formal Education program. It's a favorite part of the day for them. A chance to step out of the classroom, try something new, and express their creative sides.

Thank you to the INTC Group Charity Fund for supporting students at M'Lop Tapang with school supplies, funding, and scholarships. Contributions like these help keep our students in the classroom and focused on learning. Grateful for the partnership.

At M'Lop Tapang, students volunteer to help younger kids at playtime and lunch, encouraging activities, easing conflicts, and promoting recycling. They meet with teachers each month to share feedback. Listening to children helps build a safer learning space.

Young people are building real cooking skills at Sandan, M'Lop Tapang's vocational training restaurant. Hands-on experience, a working kitchen, and a path toward steady employment and self-reliance.

Last week, women in our Women's Support Group received certificates for completing a full year of participation. The group is a space to talk through whatever they're carrying, from health to safety to daily pressures, and to build confidence together. Congratulations!

Our team regularly meets young children selling flowers on the beach at night, working long hours to help their families. While others are in school, these children lose time to learn and face real risks. Our social workers listen, build trust, and help them return to school.

Happy faces today as children return to school! Supporting children to continue their education shapes their future and strengthens the whole community.

A few highlights from the children’s concert that was held at our education center last week, before we closed for the Khmer New Year holidays.

Today, 115 families joined our regular family meeting to learn about M’Lop Tapang’s free services. Teams shared tips on recognizing forms of abuse, staying safe from online scams, and health topics. These meetings help families stay informed and connected.

Our students joined a community clean-up day in Sihanoukville, picking up trash and learning to take care of the environment they share. A clean environment starts with all of us.

Committed to transparency and accountability, our 2025 external financial audit is underway this week, conducted by AT & Associates Co. Ltd., helping ensure that donor funds are managed responsibly and used to create meaningful impact for vulnerable children and families.

It's not always easy for our social workers to meet with some of the families M’Lop Tapang works with.

Our dental team spent the morning swapping out old toothbrushes for new ones. Each brush is labeled and stored on the rack so it's ready when needed. It's a small routine, but keeping up with regular replacements is one of the easiest ways to support good oral health.
