My random thoughts about League of Legends and being a fulltime streamer: TL;DR AT END Everyday I wake up at 9 AM and I appreciate that I dont have to not only wake up earlier, like most of u do, but also not go to a 9 to 5 job that I hate doing. Im turning on my computer, press start streaming and see the emotes flying in for instant dopamine boost. I sip on my coffee and play a video game for a living. And lets just say, its a rly decent living. The only issue here is the "video game" that I am playing now for 12 yrs. LEAGUE OF LEGENDS We all loved it, there is a reason most of us played the game for thousands of hours, but the last couple of years its rly been at a decline. Maybe not decline viewerbase wise, but more like the factor of it actually being fun. Maybe some of u can relate but I feel like the majority of people in the community dont rly play the game for fun anymore, most do it to just to play with friends for 2-3 games, like how its supposed to be played obvly. Its a video game afterall. But to get to the point, as a fulltime highelo league streamer, the game is stale and brings barely any enjoyment anymore. I know that Im not speaking alone on the matter here, ive seen alot of other streamers complain about the state of the game, especially in highelo, so thats good atleast. But for me right now, its just really really unplayable and unenjoyable. Everyone knows im a passionate player (some call it toxic) but if there isnt even a reason to flame anymore cuz ur just bored and emotionless, it says alot. The last 4 years its somehow getting worse and worse and last season (season 13) I legit thought that it cannot possibly get worse. But here we are.... Tristana midlane 55% winrate and 60% banrate (not even joke) I know that there is always a change of meta, and not every meta can be made for u as a player, but somehow there is maybe only max 2 weeks of an entire year where I can actually have fun and joy playing the game. The only reason streamers actually DO want to play and climb is the competitive aspect of the game, and sadly not even that feels like is a factor anymore. Being challenger doesnt rly mean anything anymore, atleast in my eyes. Ranks have been inflating for the past 3 years, doesnt necessarily mean thats a bad thing for mid elo players, but there is a reason that every ACTUAL challenger player gets angry every 2nd game cuz of "masta players". =) What im getting to is, that im "quitting league" FOR NOW. Atleast untill the 7th of august, where I will for the prolly last time going to KOREA. Im going to try my hardest to achieve challenger there and actually proof that there is something behind my ego that is so, so big and fragile. if that goes well and league changes into a good and playable way (which I highly doubt) Im going to continue and hopemaxx, ON THE OTHER HAND if league still feels stale or there is no bright future in sight, I shall do what ive should done way earlier... Do what is fun to me and actually ENJOY the privilege of being able to do fulltime streaming with VARIETY. Also, this tweet is not an excuse for me being a toxic piece of shit, the game makes me miserable and Im not coping or lying about it. Simply wrote this tweet cuz I felt like clarifying and being transparent with the ppl that actually care. Most of u will prolly be happy about me leaving the league community which is fine also =) and if u dont care its fine also as per usual. 🤓 I shall leave the comments on, I dont rly care about what ppl think, you can write ur opinion. I might or might not look depending the mood. TL DR: I wanna quit league and become variety streamer if my final korea trip goes bad OR i think the game is not going to improve in the next couple months.
