@mnolangray As you've noted, the housing crisis facing Detroit and other Michigan metros doesn't look like California's. We need approaches that fit our local versions of the housing crisis, not just copy-pasting of policies from places with wildly different market conditions.

California's ADU preemption law—of the sort Michigan is considering this year—has directly led to the construction of over 100,000 housing units that would have been illegal prior to 2017.
