This Irish new wave band formed in 1975 in Dublin. ‘I Don't Like Mondays’ was released in 1979. It reached #1 in the UK, Ireland, Australia and South Africa and top ten in many countries. It only reached #73 on the US Billboard Hot 100. ‘I Don't Like Mondays’ was written about the Cleveland Elementary School sh00ting in San Diego in 1979. A 16 year old girl, Brenda Spencer, who lived across the street from the school, fired from her bedroom window at the school playground, k!lling the principal, custodian and injuring a police officer and 8 children. Her explanation for her actions was "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." She is still currently in prison. Bob Geldof said he regretted writing the song because “he made Brenda Spencer famous”. 👉🏻 Name the band. (Just testing it out if there’s better reach with a shorter video)
