@brach184 @alexp_1335 His BABIP is .228, which is insanely unlucky. As soon as he regresses to the mean in terms of luck he’ll be fine. Honestly I think the people that are upset he wasn’t traded or are mad at him aren’t watching the games. He smokes the ball every time he makes contact

#Dbacks fans are some of the least loyal fans lmao Ketel has been a superstar and carried this franchise for years now, and everyone is turning on him calling for a trade after this slow start he’s had. We don’t deserve superstars in the valley, all we have is ungrateful fans.

He’s been quite literally the most unlucky player in baseball. This is where the eye test and advanced metrics far outweigh the results. His xBA is .282, his average exit velocity is 91.3 mph which is well above average, and his xSLG is .446 also above average. He’s just hitting right at people which is shown by his .228 BABIP. Thats unbelievably unlucky. He’ll turn it around, he’s too good not to. People need to actually watch the games and see the contact he’s making.

@fuqekgs You wouldn’t even be able to, they’re in Pearson testing centers that require Palm scans on their own computers lol. I do know many people that use it but you can’t just coast through exams using it

Twitter doctors - I *thought* I got a bug bite on my wrist like a month ago but it’s randomly been itching for like a month or something and now one bump like this will reappear in the exact same spot and then go away after a few hours sometimes … what is this

@RangerApologist No dude you’re so right watching the 2021 Dbacks go 52-110 wasn’t bad at all, nor is having to play the dodgers like a million times a year and never being able to win a division because they’re with us 👍

@OfficialEnola @Ferk___ @61stLos @benlikessport The idea that babe hit 550 feet is more blasphemous. You’re telling me babe was able to hit slower pitching, in the dead ball era, farther than 6’7”, 282 lb Aaron judge with modern equipment, training, better balls, and faster pitching?

@Ferk___ @61stLos @benlikessport he faced walter johnson 128 times and had a lifetime 300 average against him with 10+ HR’s. also hit a 550 foot home run off of walter’s 101-103 MPH fastball. cmon man, saying babe wouldn’t be able to hit misorowski is BLASPHEMY.

That’s not it. Not disparaging how great of a hitter he was, but if you took babe ruth in 1921 and transplanted him here and said take 10 at bats, without any prep or conditioning, hes going 0-10 straight up. He’s using a 50+ ounce bat against 104 and breaking balls that didn’t even exist back then. With adequate training i bet he could adjust but at their best, he’s not touching him.

@George_Davison1 @simonmaechling True and I do agree it’s something we need to work on, but having a bmi of 30 doesn’t just instantly make you sick and diseased. Relative risk doesn’t equal outcomes

Water is a chemical. Salt is a chemical. Vitamin C is a chemical. The question is not: “Is it a chemical?” The question is: “At what dose is it harmful?” That’s toxicology. First-year science.
William May@Quazardragon

@SecKennedy @US_FDA No chemical is safe to add to our food. We are not hazardous waste disposals and neither are our animals.

@MMicah27 @simonmaechling Well not immediately. But if you eat food made by ‘“scientists” … soda, potato chips , MacDonalds, fruit loops … you won’t live well and you won’t live long

What separates us from hunter-gatherers is modernity. We aren’t scavengers who have to worry that the next piece of food we eat has the potential kill us. Modernity and chemicals are what makes us the planets apex species. Doesn’t mean you have to only eat chemicals, but they’re a huge part of why we advanced to where we are now

@MMicah27 @simonmaechling I’m saying it’s a reasonable heuristic to avoid lab-made chemicals in the same way that our hunter-gather ancestors would have been very risk adverse if they migrated and found a new type of mushroom

@George_Davison1 @simonmaechling Do you have any actual reasoning why chemicals made in a lab are inherently dangerous or are you just blanket stating something you believe to be true

There are of course exceptions like vaccines for small pocks, polio and measles… but still the rule of thumb is probably to avoid things made in a lab (out of “chemicals”) that have not withstood the test of time. I note the same is true with unknown things found in nature … except in the Information Age we can probably find a 10,000 year history for everything found in nature as to whether it’s harmful / good for humans

@Brooklynmonk @AnnaDVana @missmayn DOGE claimed to want to cut 2 trillion from the budget but most reports have them closer to 215 billion total which is going to be completely nullified by trump dragging us into war with Iran because that’s costing 1-2 billion per day

It is true and easily verifiable. But surely you read the news and are aware of how much Trump has done in 18 months. Good things done by Trump Protecting the border Deporting illegal aliens Changing regime in Venezuela Making US a net oil exporter Gaining control of 2/3 of world's oil supply Demanding new deals with trade and defense partners Moving toward regime change in Iran Job creation Reducing the number of government jobs Cutting wasteful aid programs Removing the US from several multilateral institutions

@Reds03 @TheCliffe36 @mike5_5_5 If we’re talking peak, are there seriously 10 better pitchers ahead of him? That 2018-2019 stretch is otherworldly. 2.06 era in 421 innings pitched with 524 strikeouts to 90 walks for a 193 era+. If he’s not top 10, then he’s right outside it
