#IUI2019 I’m a worried about these “normative” explanations and the perpetuation of biases. They steer the user to draw the way the system expects. This would be problematic in case the AI doesn’t recognize my drawing of a “flight attendant” because it expects a person in a skirt

Enjoyed two #IUI2019 sessions on "Explainable AI". It could be time to discuss differences between "explanation", "persuasion", "justification" and just "more information". With so many really interesting IUIs, it is clear that they do different things.. iui.acm.org/2019/program.h…
