This new music is all based around just that. So I started a new brand to help really define this whole world. A THOUSAND YEARS AGO : objects for everyday rituals. The first item is for my new song “Mirror”. Each product is curated to what the songs represent. A stainless tray that shows your reflection but is a functional piece of art. 7 YEARS OF SOBRIETY. On this day last year I shared a story with the world that was really scary for me. I unknowingly took a sip of alcohol on my 6th year of sobriety. I was scared to tell anyone around me about it because I thought it meant I had to start all over + thoughts of using were higher than ever before...BUT I told the world + found a community that made me feel forgiveness + strength. Because of that I was able to stay strong. So THIS year I gave myself all the love I possibly could. I changed everything + focused on me. I worked really really hard. I made the best music of my life, I got in the best shape I've ever been in, I studied what inner peace really looked like for me, + I even packed up all my belongings + moved out of LA. I'm genuinely proud of the person I see in the mirror. Anyone reading this...if you are struggling right now, I promise change is possible. You can start a brand new life right now. You are in charge of your story, so give yourself the life you deserve. You can fail as many times as you want, but just keep trying. We aren't perfect, but we do recover. Sobriety changed my life...it really did. I love you all so much + I can't wait to show you the work I've put in. I'm really lucky to have yall. It feels nice to have a genuine smile of my face as I type this. What a ride it's been.

Regulating your nervous system is the biggest life hack out there. It’s simple if you just slow everything down a little bit. First thing you can do to change is start a morning routine.

I really just wanna give yall ur new comfort album. The one u can always come to. Music u can play at anytime of day, during any weather. When life is going great, when life is shit, or when you’re just doing nothing at all. I know what those albums feel like. I just wanna give yall that.

We don’t talk about Hootie & The Blowfish enough. Peak 90’s band. They had like 7 hits on their debut album. Still crushing it live today. “Let Her Cry” is among the greatest songs to come from the 90’s.

Watching stagecoach… All these artists are such incredible singers. The country or country adjacent performers are so damn dedicated to the craft. Not saying this to slight any other festivals or genres, I just think it’s just clear that the craft of singing + playing instruments is so important to them…not just the performance or entertainment side of the business. I got so much respect for that music even though it’s not my personal cup of tea. Just something so beautiful about how much the tradition means to all them. At least that’s what it feels like watching them.

He says, "Physical therapy." Shows me his arm and he has a nasty scar. Shoulder rebuilt. "Doctor said one rep at full weight daily or the muscle dies." "Sitting is because I'II pass out if I stand." Next day I helped him load the bar. Next week three of us would help him. Now 6am is "help Dave not die" club. He brings protein muffins. We don't call him plate dragon anymore.

Some guy at the gym every morning 6am. He takes the 45lb plates, all of them. He loads one bar and he does one rep and sits for 20 minutes. Then unloads and he leaves, he does this everyday. We hated him, and nicknamed him the plate dragon. People started coming in at 5:45 to beat him. He'd just wait smiling and he would take them at 6. One rep, sit then leaves. I finally asked him Bro what are you doing?
