Notice Resumption of Regular Working Arrangements in Private Sector Entities In order to ensure the continuity of business operations with efficiency and regularity, and in implementation of the directives issued by the General Secretariat of the Cabinet regarding the resumption of work at workplaces, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry hereby announce the withdrawal of the previous recommendation concerning the adoption of remote work across all private sector entities. Accordingly, work shall resume under its regular arrangements and return fully to normal. May Allah safeguard our homeland and perpetuate upon it the blessings of security, stability, and prosperity. #MOLQTR

Thank you for your enquiry. In accordance with Article 78 of Labour Law No. (14) of 2004, employees in private sector establishments are entitled to three fully paid working days of leave in observance of Eid Al-Fitr. The leave period is calculated from the date officially announced as the first day of Eid Al-Fitr. The three days refer to actual working days only and therefore exclude Fridays, unless otherwise stipulated in the establishment’s internal regulations. Where employees are required to work during the designated leave period due to operational requirements, the provisions relating to overtime work and remuneration, as stipulated under Article 74 of the Labour Law, shall apply accordingly. For further details, please refer to the official communiqué issued by the Ministry of Labour on 15 March.

The Ministry of Labour announces that employees of private sector establishments governed by the Labour Law shall be granted a three-day Eid Al-Fitr holiday with full pay. نشكر استفساركم. إجازة عيد الفطر للعاملين في منشآت القطاع الخاص تكون ثلاثة أيام عمل مدفوعة الأجر بالكامل وفقًا للمادة (78) من قانون العمل رقم (14) لسنة 2004. ويتم احتساب الإجازة بحسب إعلان أول أيام عيد الفطر. كما أن المقصود بـ ثلاثة أيام عمل هي أيام عمل فعلية، ولا يشمل ذلك يوم الجمعة ما لم تنص لائحة تنظيم العمل في المنشأة على خلاف ذلك. وفي حال تطلبت ظروف العمل تشغيل العامل خلال الإجازة، تطبق أحكام العمل الإضافي والبدلات الخاصة بها وفق المادة (74) من قانون العمل. لمزيد من التفاصيل يمكن الرجوع إلى المنشور الصادر عن وزارة العمل بتاريخ 15 مارس
