Extended Stay! The Emancipation Proclamation Broadside Remains on Display Until March 31. This rare and powerful document marks a pivotal moment in U.S. history, and we’re honored to share it with our community for a little longer. If you haven’t seen it yet, now’s your chance!

“The Shooting Star of Starr County: An Out of this World Discovery” exhibit features the meteorites that landed on a ranch near the town of El Sauz in Starr County, Texas. This exhibit is included in the regular museum admission fees.

For #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re displaying an original 1863 Emancipation Proclamation Broadside—a rare artifact used to spread the news of freedom in the 19th century. Printed in Chicago, this document may have even survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871! 📅 Opens Jan. 31, 2025
