MPA Day 2025 | Safeguarding Our Blue Heritage 🌍 Did you know that Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are ocean zones managed to conserve marine life and ecosystems, like national parks, but underwater? The rich marine ecosystem surrounding Dyer Island, home to the Marine Big 5, is not currently a designated MPA. But it urgently needs protection. These waters support sharks, whales, dolphins, seals, and the critically endangered African penguin species that depend on healthy habitats to thrive.
