@jw22_15 As I just responded to someone else: "Yes, that was me experiencing an acute case of cerebral flatulence. (Extreme, rapid-onset rain fart.)"

@SavageandRaw D'oh! A) I knew that already. B) It was in the original post. My brain was thinking of someone else and ran with it.

Kordell Stewart was a better pure runner than Lamar Jackson. Argue with a wall.

My daughter's only career "home runs" came like this. She was never a great (or even good) hitter but she was one of the best base runners you'd ever see. If she got on, usually by bunt, there was about a 99% chance she wasn't getting out on the bases.

I don't disagree with that. Kordell would have thrived in this era of half-field reads, RPOs and using the pass as an extension of the run game. Those things would play to his strengths way more than the scheme he was in with the Steelers. The best OCs today are winning with schemes that are far more QB-friendly.

@MPFrazer If they switched generations, we would say Stewart was the better QB because the system allows for that type of QB to have more options. Lamar would be forced into being a pocket passer and accuracy would go down.

He's had a lot more opportunity. I'm not talking about production, I'm talking about their ability with the ball in their hands. Stewart had insane vision for running lanes. Lamar also plays in a passing league, so the defense is off the ball more, and more often. Kordell played in a run-first era and on one of the heaviest run-first teams, so he faced tighter run defense way more often.

@MPFrazer Stewart was underrated, but Lamar is the leading QB rusher in NFL history for a reason.

@MPFrazer If he was a better pure runner they'd have ran with him more instead of trying to use him as a receiver 😂

@bgibs1994 You'd take McCarthy over Rudolph? Anthony Richardson, who can't hit the broad side of a barn?

@MPFrazer Fields and Bagent are the only ones I wouldn’t take over him. There are others not listed I’d take too

@Hazzyness That was partly due to Kordell having better vision as a runner in the first place. He had a knack for seeing the hole before it was there.

@MPFrazer Straight line yes but he wasn’t as shifty and light on his feet as Lamar

@MPFrazer He was more athletic. He was not a better qb by any means though.

@bangersnmash_0 Wasn't his best but it was also a pretty small sample size. He did have the Steelers up 21-14 just before halftime vs. CHI and led them to 28 points in that game. That loss was mostly on the D if we are being honest.
