Authorities beating adults on the streets as form of correction

I had an epiphany while working on a research paper: Capitalism is competition over recurring human tension. The companies that win are the ones that resolve it repeatedly. If you’re building a startup, study tension before product.

The future belongs to people who can identify needs before the market fully articulates them. Not through guessing. Through observation. That is the foundation of what I call: Need Engineering.

But this is also where ethics becomes unavoidable. Because dependency itself is not the problem. The question is: Does the dependency leave the person stronger or weaker? That distinction matters more than most founders realize.

Markets do not create needs. Needs create markets. This sounds obvious until you realize most founders completely ignore it. They start with: “What do I want to build?” Instead of: “What unresolved human tension already exists?”

The psychological effects of the Like button are already socially visible. People do not need regulators to tell them something changed. The deeper question is why modern humans continue participating in systems they already know are reshaping their behavior.
