The Ministry of Economy and Labour has released the Retaining Bermudian Workers Aged 65+ Policy Guide for Employers, a practical resource to help organisations retain, re-engage, and support experienced Bermudian workers as part of a stronger, more resilient workforce.
With Bermuda facing an ageing population, a declining birth rate, and labour shortages across key sectors, the guide outlines evidence-based strategies such as flexible work options, phased retirement, mentorship and knowledge transfer, reskilling, and age-inclusive hiring practices.
Minister of Economy and Labour, Jason Hayward, said retaining older workers is both an economic necessity and a strategic advantage, noting that their skills, leadership, and institutional knowledge are critical to business continuity and national growth.
📘 Employers, HR leaders, unions, and industry partners are encouraged to review the guide and adopt its recommendations: gov.bm/ministry/econo…
