Budget Day begins today in Bermuda. This Budget focuses on strengthening our economy, supporting families, and investing in opportunities that secure Bermuda’s future. We remain committed to responsible leadership and sustainable growth for all.

Bermuda’s economy expanded by 9.9% in Q3 2025 (inflation-adjusted), the strongest quarterly growth since Q2 2021. This expansion reflects a powerful combination of strong trade performance, increased investment, robust government spending, and steady consumer activity. Friday was a proud and meaningful moment as BIU launched their historical exhibits. Walking through the stories of those who paved the way was both humbling and inspiring. Their legacy challenges us to keep building, keep protecting, and keep advancing the rights of workers!

It was truly an honor to walk through the official launch of the Bermuda Industrial Union’s Historical Exhibits today. These exhibits are a powerful tribute to the struggles, sacrifices, and victories that shaped our labour movement.

The Ministry of Economy and Labour has released the Retaining Bermudian Workers Aged 65+ Policy Guide for Employers, a practical resource to help organisations retain, re-engage, and support experienced Bermudian workers as part of a stronger, more resilient workforce. With Bermuda facing an ageing population, a declining birth rate, and labour shortages across key sectors, the guide outlines evidence-based strategies such as flexible work options, phased retirement, mentorship and knowledge transfer, reskilling, and age-inclusive hiring practices.
