SCAM ALERT by Istanbul Taxi Driver (from Taksim to SAW) 14/07/2025: Got scammed in a taxi in Istanbul today — handed over a 50 euro note, driver distracted me with small talk, swapped it for a 50 lira and handed it back! @OguzAlperOktem

This is exactly why I use @MartiTAG — ride sharing is the only real solution to this mafia-like taxi scam culture. No cash tricks. No stress. Just fair rides.

Worst part? I had a flight to catch so I couldn’t even argue.

I blame my own carelessness but it still stings. Been living in Istanbul for 10 years — can’t believe this petty trick still happens daily.

I even checked: the chipped corner on my 50 euro was gone — because he switched it so fast.
