Hoy se celebra el Día Mundial de la Libertad de Prensa, patrocinado por la UNESCO. Lamentablemente, este derecho se viola con frecuencia, a veces de manera flagrante y otras de forma encubierta. Recordemos a los numerosos periodistas y reporteros víctimas de las guerras y la violencia.

“Tengan fe”, nos dice Jesús en el #EvangelioDeHoy (Jn 14,1). ¡Este es el secreto! Esta fe libera nuestro corazón de la ansiedad por tener y obtener, del engaño de correr tras un puesto de prestigio para valer algo. Cada uno posee ya un valor infinito en el misterio de Dios.

Tú descansa… que Él vela por ti. No necesitas entenderlo todo, solo confiar.

Con dolor y preocupación, he tenido noticia de la trágica situación de violencia que aflige la región suroeste de #Colombia, que ha causado graves pérdidas de vidas humanas. Expreso mi cercanía en la oración a las víctimas y a sus familiares, y exhorto a todos a rechazar cualquier forma de violencia y optar decididamente por el camino de la #paz.

La “Arzobispa” de Canterbury finge impartir una bendición en la Capilla Clementina, en la cripta de la Basílica de San Pedro del Vaticano. Es la capilla más cercana a la tumba de San Pedro. A su izquierda, un obispo católico fingiendo recibir la “bendición”. El lunes por la mañana se reunirá con el Papa León XIV.

The Holy Eucharist is literally the body and blood of Jesus Christ. If we look at the Gospel of John 10, Jesus made a parable; There’s a sheepfold (God’s people). There’s a gate (the only rightful entrance). There’s a shepherd (the true leader). There are thieves (false teachers trying to sneak in). Anyone who climbs in through another way is fake. But the one who comes through the gate is the legit shepherd. The sheep are not confused. They know the voice of their shepherd and they follow him. When strangers speak, they (sheep) run. --At first, people didn’t understand-- So what did Jesus do? He didn’t leave them guessing. He didn’t say, "figure it out spiritually." He made it PLAIN: "I am the gate." Meaning: If you’re not coming through Christ, you’re not coming in at all. Simple. ---Now hold that though--- Because when He said "This is my body" in John 6, people also reacted. But this time; He didn’t say, "Wait, I meant it symbolically." No breakdown. No "let me explain." No softening. Then He turns to the Twelve: "Will you also go away?" Does that look like someone who is trying to correct a misunderstanding? Or does it look like someone standing on exactly what He said? So ask yourself; If they misunderstood Him, why didn’t He explain like He always did?.

There’s a lot of noise right now about Pope Leo XIV and supposed "crackdowns" versus "double standards." Let's be clear and let's be very clear: The role of the Pope is not to please factions, but to preserve unity and safeguard the Church. The situation with the SSPX has never been as simple as "defenders of the faith vs. Rome." It has always involved questions of obedience, communion, and ecclesial authority, and we all know this thing. Let’s not quickly forget, the SSPX leadership was already excommunicated in 1988 under St. Pope John Paul II because of illicit episcopal consecrations. That history matters. This isn't new or random. You cannot claim to uphold Catholic tradition while remaining in persistent disunity with the Church. At the same time, engaging with controversial figures does not equal endorsement. The Church has always dialogued broadly, that is part of her mission. If you call this "hypocrisy", you're ignoring the deeper principle at play; unity with the Church matters. The Pope is not attacking the faith - he is exercising his responsibility to govern it. You don’t have to understand every decision. But undermining the papacy based on incomplete narratives only fuels division. And if we’re being honest, this is a good moment to remember something simple: The Church is ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, and APOSTOLIC.

Llamar “Su Gracia” al Arzobispo de Canterbury es simple protocolo, no validación de órdenes. La Santa Sede llama “Patriarca” a ortodoxos y “Reverend” a pastores protestantes sin equiparar su ministerio al sacerdocio católico. Roma lo hace desde hace décadas sin tocar un milímetro la doctrina. Leerlo como concesión no es celo por la fe; es desconocer cómo funciona la Iglesia… y generar ruido innecesario.

Antes incluso de intentar construir la #paz con nuestras pobres fuerzas, ante cuantos no la buscan como don de Dios, nuestra misión nos llama a ser “puentes” y “canales” para que la gracia que viene del cielo pueda abrirse camino entre los pliegues de la historia. vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

Mientras nuestro mundo, que tanto sufre, tiene una profunda necesidad de la #paz de Cristo, las divisiones entre los cristianos debilitan nuestra capacidad de ser portadores eficaces de esa paz. Hoy se conmemora el 40º aniversario del trágico accidente de Chernóbil, que marcó la conciencia de la humanidad. Este hecho sigue siendo una advertencia sobre los riesgos inherentes al uso de tecnologías cada vez más potentes. Encomendamos a la misericordia de Dios las víctimas y aquellos que aún sufren las consecuencias. Espero que, en la toma de decisiones a todos los niveles, prevalezcan siempre el discernimiento y la responsabilidad, para que todo uso de la energía atómica esté al servicio de la vida y la #paz.
