Fact: IAEA Director General stated no structured nuclear weapons program and Iran was not days/weeks from a bomb. Strikes hit Iran during active negotiations, not an emergency. The USA and Israel disrupted the negotiations. Lie 2: Diplomacy & sanctions were total failures. Fact: Nuclear talks were ongoing into late February 2026 with Iranian offers on enrichment. The US demanded full capitulation. Strikes killed Khamenei and derailed diplomacy. Iran additionally complied with the JCPOA agreements, Trump deliberately tore it up. Lie 3: Operation Epic Fury was a limited, well-planned campaign with clear exit. Fact: It became a broad decapitation strike with regime-change signals. Iran retaliated, closed the Strait of Hormuz, and installed hardliner Mojtaba Khamenei. No clean settlement was achieved. Lie 4: Strikes destroyed 90%+ of Iran’s capabilities and set it back 20 years. Fact: Significant damage occurred, but enriched uranium stocks, know-how and underground sites largely survived. Nobody has an exact figure of what is destroyed. Lie 5: This brings “long-term stability” and lower future oil prices. Fact: Oil spiked over $110–$126/barrel due to Hormuz disruptions. Civilian casualties, regional escalation and depleted defenses point to higher costs and instability, not peace. Another Iraq in the making.
