This is the NBA player that never played a second of high school basketball.  Nae’Qwan Tomlin chose an unconventional route to get noticed by scouts. Instead of playing AAU or high school varsity, Tomlin just played pickup ball at Rucker Park. In fact, the first time Tomlin had any first-hand experience playing organized basketball was in 2018 when he enrolled in a prep school 👀 In his first three years at college, he played for two different community colleges before getting a scholarship at Kansas State. After leading the Wildcats to the Elite Eight, he was removed from the team due to disorderly conduct and spent his senior season playing for Memphis.  He eventually went undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft but was signed to the Cavs G-league team in September. By February of last season, the Cavs signed Tomlin to a 10-day contract which eventually got converted to a 2-year two-way contract a month later. Today, he's a role player on the Cavs and has even started 3 games for his career where he's been pretty productive when given the minutes. 🔸15.7 PPG 🔸5.3 REBS 🔸1.3 ASTS From playing in Rucker Park to playing for 4 different colleges to being a role player on one of the top teams in the East. Nae’Qwan Tomlin never thought any of this was possible a few years ago—but he wouldn’t have wanted his story to unfold any other way 🙌
