@DrGrassby @DavidNautilus1 As a mum of a Yr 6 child in Coventry - she has done exactly this. They also went to Beaumanor Hall (dressed as an evacuee child) to learn about coding, bomb sheltering, rationing & such like 👍🏻

@DavidNautilus1 Lots of people saying you can't teach WW2 so young, but all kids in Coventry will be taught about the Blitz, visit the bombed cathedral and possibly the Blitz exhibition at the motor museum. Don't all schools teach key local history?

I'm teaching year 3, World War 2. A carefully planned lesson, with a map of occupied Europe on the whiteboard behind me. As we talk about the invasion, we unpick what Hitler was doing. I talk to them about his evil vision for the world. And then I'm interrupted. One little girl, straining with her hand in the air. I pause to acknowledge her, and she speaks. 'What would things be like if he had won the war?' The class is silent, with everyone awaiting my response. As I take a moment to consider my answer, I look at the children. I see a collection of beautiful faces, all different colours, from all over the world. The right question, from the right person at the right time. Sometimes you just can't plan learning as profound as this can you?

On Wednesday I lost my beautiful daughter at Bournemouth beach. Sunnah was so well loved and well liked. No parent should ever have to go through what her dad and I are going through. We love you so much baby girl 💕
