Who is Roon? Apparently, he is Tarun Gogineni at OpenAI. Roon was interviewed for a few tech (suck-up) podcasts. But Sam Altman "joked" back in 2024 about Roon being his alt account. Recently, Roon replied with seeming propaganda on that OpenAI could be deemed a supply chain risk, after it 'bravely' tried to take over and subvert Anthropic's contract. Overall, Roon acts like an extension of Sam Altman, even if he is not Sam.

This attack will be used to build a surveillance dragnet. We already have reports OpenAI is doing it for internal leaks, the DoD has made clear it wants to use gAI (from Anthropic or OAI) for this. I would be shocked if it wasn’t already deployed on data center activists!

One of the most dishonest things Sam Altman could’ve implied is that a critical piece of journalism by Ronan Farrow (which made clear he is a dishonest actor) caused the attack on him. Ironically enough, that’s exactly what he did!
