Expanding our cold-chain capacity in China ❄️🇨🇳 MEDLOG, part of MSC Group, and China Master Logistics Co Ltd. (CMLOG) have launched a joint venture to develop a network of cold storage facilities in Shanghai, Tianjin and Ningbo. The newest facility in Lingang, Shanghai, is the third and largest site in this growing network, offering around 80,000 tonnes of storage capacity and supporting the rising demand for cross-border refrigerated imports into China. A 45-year commitment to Nigeria’s future ⚓ 🇳🇬 The MSC Group has signed a 45-year concession agreement with Nigerdock to develop a state-of-the-art container terminal within Snake Island Port (SIP) in Lagos. The project reflects MSC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening supply chains, supporting trade and creating local jobs in Nigeria. “Together with our Group’s other long-term investments in Nigeria, it will generate many local jobs and significantly increase economic revenue and resilience,” said Diego Aponte, President of MSC Group. The updated service rotations will take effect from late March and early April 2026. From Asia to the Gulf – competitive transit times via King Abdullah and Jeddah ⚓ As MSC continues to develop solutions for cargo moving through the Middle East, we are offering customers options for inland cargoes to the Gulf. Our Dragon and Jade services offer competitive transit times connecting Asia with Saudi Arabia, calling at King Abdullah Port and Jeddah respectively. From these gateways, shipments can be combined with merchant and inspired haulage, enabling shipment inland to the Gulf via King Abdullah and Jeddah. From sea to rail in Alexandria 🚆⚓ The nine metro railcars we recently loaded in Antwerp have now arrived in Alexandria. In this video, Mohamed Emad, Export Trade & Project Cargo Manager at MSC Egypt, explains how they are carefully discharged from the vessel using specialised equipment before being positioned on the rail for the next stage of their journey. Situation in the Middle East – Operational Update Due to the evolving security situation in the Middle East and the restrictions affecting maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb, MSC has taken precautionary measures to safeguard its crews and operations. All MSC vessels currently operating in the Gulf region, as well as those en route, have been instructed to proceed to designated safe shelter areas until further notice. In addition, MSC has temporarily suspended all bookings for worldwide cargo to the Middle East region. Bookings will resume as soon as the security situation improves. We continue to closely monitor developments and are working with the relevant authorities. Customers will be informed as soon as further details become available, including any potential alternative discharge ports should additional operational adjustments be required. Protecting the giants of the ocean 🐋 Today, on World Whale Day, we’re reminded not only of how remarkable these animals are, but of the role they play in keeping our oceans healthy. Through their movement and feeding patterns, whales nourish marine ecosystems. Even at the end of their lives, they help store carbon deep beneath the surface. At MSC, this responsibility is part of life at sea. We adjust routes to avoid sensitive habitats, take part in speed reduction programmes, reduce underwater noise through vessel design improvements, and raise awareness among our crews to better detect whales along our routes.
