Rear Adm. Benjamin Nicholson visited the crew of USNS Medgar Evers (T-AKE 13) yesterday at Naval Station Norfolk, where he recognized several of the ship’s Civil Service Mariners (CIVMARs) for their exceptional hard work and continued support of the Medgar Evers team.

MSC Commander, Rear Adm. Benjamin Nicholson delivered remarks during the christening ceremony for the future USNS Lansing (EPF 16), at Austal USA in Mobile, Ala.

MSC Commander, Rear Adm. Benjamin Nicholson toured the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) where he had the opportunity to meet and talk with the Mariner, Sailor, and Civilian workforce. Mercy is at the Alabama Shipyard undergoing a major mid-term maintenance overhaul.

This week’s Military Sealift Command “Ship in the Spotlight,” is the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14). The ship’s crew rescued three fishermen in distress aboard a fishing vessel while transiting the South China Sea.

The moment has arrived. Chief Cook Alaunta D. Martin, a 22-year U.S. Navy veteran has joined MSC. We are looking forward to welcoming him to the team and tasting his savory dishes. #MSCDelivers

Congratulations to this week’s Ship in the Spotlight, USNS Point Loma (T-EPF 15), for being the fifteenth expeditionary fast transport vessel built for Military Sealift Command.

RADM Benjamin Nicholson, Commander, U.S. Navy's MSC, was the guest speaker at the SWOS Department Head Class 284 graduation. He spoke on his own experiences since completing the course in 1999 and how foundational success revolves within leadership, teamwork.
