MSF carried out a targeted medical evacuation of three patients from Dnipropetrovsk region to Kyiv, Ukraine. This type of transport allows people with serious injuries to be taken to specialist hospitals as quickly as possible.

Another patient arrived with a serious leg fracture and significant blood loss and received timely treatment. Both women are currently in stable condition. Drone strikes on civilians in Kherson, including on vehicles and pedestrians, have become a frequent occurrence.

MSF teams, together with staff from Ukraine’s Ministry of Health, provided medical assistance to patients injured during a Russian drone attack on a passenger bus in Kherson on 11 March. At least 20 people are reported as injured.

Civilians must never be the target. Either in horrific direct attacks like this, or through the slow extinguishing of healthcare, electricity, heating, and other essential utilities, we see the burden on civilians near frontlines in Ukraine increasing month by month, week by week

Today, a passenger bus was hit by explosives in Kherson city, reportedly dropped from a Russian drone. To date, at least 20 patients were dispatched to several hospitals, including the one that MSF supports in Kherson.

According to the WHO, over 2,800 health facilities nationwide have been damaged or destroyed, and medical staff near the frontline are increasingly scarce. MSF teams continue to support hospitals and primary healthcare as close to frontline areas as possible.

Fighting continues to empty towns and villages. MSF’s increased presence in shelters through mobile medical clinics. Consultations provided by our mobile teams more than doubled in 2025 compared to 2024 — increasing from 4,327 to 9,500.

The scale of destruction in Ukraine is enormous and has only grown since Russian forces invaded in 2022. MSF teams have also been forced to adapt – leaving seven hospitals and over 40 locations where they were running mobile clinics – when the situation becomes too dangerous.
