@pugboxing Certainly uncommon. Only one that quickly comes to mind is the first Canelo vs GGG fight. GGG was WBC/WBA/IBF champion, Canelo was beltless, but Canelo was given A-side on the poster. Don't recall who walked last on fight night.

@markstwatter2 @FrontRowBrian Mayweather hasn't faced a boxer in a professional bout in 11 years. Pacquiao fought the welterweight champion to a draw last year and deserved the win.
Mayweather may very well win, but harder to be confident when he's a giant question mark right now.

@AndreasHale I agree, but as long as every promotion has their own world title, it's an involuntary emotional response for most fans to pledge allegiance to a promotion, so that their belt is the "real" one in the fan's eyes.

The same can be said of WWE fans who REFUSE to acknowledge the talent of other promotions UNTIL they come to WWE. Very weirdo behavior. Love wrestling, not promotions.

This is VERY much like Hip Hop's underground scene in the early 2000s, where fans of certain artists played the role of gatekeeper rather than inviting listeners into the experience. You shouldn't want it to be only yours forever. You should want to see it grow and be recognized
