@CMJulieWon If anything there would be an increase and congestion in our neighborhood as people avoid driving into the city and park in LIC circling endlessly to find one of the few street parking spots available. Congestion pricing would be a nightmare for our neighborhood.

...and will be beneficial to the district as we have the highest amount of congestion due to the daily traffic on the Queensboro Bridge. We will be working with advocates across the city to do everything we can to support the implementation of congestion pricing. (3/3)

Congestion pricing shouldn't have been reversed. More than a decade's worth of work undone unilaterally by the Governor. My priority is making sure the capital investments from the tax revenue that are committed to, such as the elevators to the 7 train... (1/3)

@ditheringfm In Overcast on a 15 pro, iOS 17.0.3 - I’m getting a red ! triangle that says “not authorized”. My subscription is up-to-date, renewed for a year in August. Is there an issue with the latest episode of Dithering?

There’s many people on this @delta flight thanking me for being such a “nice guy.” I think I’m just being taken advantage of. They asked for volunteers to take a later flight (4 hours). I’d get $500 for my inconvenience. Sounds good. 1/3

@MarketUrbanism What would be the point when highways in NYC were built by bulldozing neighborhoods anyway. No one left to shield.

Something you never see in New York City: any attempt whatsoever to shield neighbors from the noise or pollution of highways. When your costs are 10x what they should be, even simple interventions are impossible

@jeremylechtzin @MarketUrbanism No, you get the 20” as of right. More than that you’d need DOT permission and they could always revoke it. I don’t know, maybe they want to turn your residential street into an elevated highway someday and your balcony would be in the way

@MScaduto @MarketUrbanism Do you not need DOT permission to be over the sidewalk even if below the zoning threshold? (I mean the actual public way, not some part of the sidewalk within the property line)

Thank you for approving Canadian Rater’s vaccine, ⁦@POTUS⁩. Now please do mixed vaccines and also do something about the land border. Thank you kindly. cp24.com/news/u-s-to-ac…

@mattyglesias My parents purchased a townhouse in Brooklyn in the early 90s for $250k. It’s worth around $4MM today, but my mother is a retired widow living off SS modest rental income. Doesn’t make her rich by any means. Maybe I’ll be rich someday but she’s still just a middle class retiree

@VaguePariah @MarketUrbanism US codes require access to two separated staircases in most cases for multi family houses. And having so many elevators is $$$. Those upfront costs far exceed the potential income from more apartment area vs. less hallway.

What’s so interesting about these multi-single-stair/elevator buildings (i.e., access to only one staircase/elevator, but many in the building) is that they are NOT cheaping out – there are actually *more* staircases/elevators per unit than in US buildings

"Is that a spot? I think it's a spot. I'm gonna try. Why'd that guy have to park like an asshole? Can you get out and tell me how much room I have?" *15 point turn* *bumps into both cars* *parks diagonally across the street* "This is fine right? I'm leaving it."
