The business of politics is nasty, ugly, and at times humiliating. There’s something very attractive about the sport of politics, but it’s not for everyone. One day you’re a rockstar. The next, you’re a laughingstock. That said, firing Pam Bondi was the right move. The Epstein files were mishandled from the start. And the buck stops with her. Wish her nothing but the best in her next move. Everyone who knows her tells me she’s a good person.

Check out this interview! Nobody asks better questions on public policy issues than @bradswail!
Lone Star Standard@LSStandard

NEW EPISODE: Host @bradswail sits down with @MarcALevin, Chief Policy Counsel at the @CouncilonCJ, for a wide-ranging conversation about where criminal justice reform stands in Texas today — and what lawmakers should be focused on next. They explore recent reforms from the 89th Texas Legislature, including expanded pretrial funding, parole process changes through the Sunset review of TDCJ, and the constitutional amendment updating bail rules. Levin also discusses why plea bargaining deserves more scrutiny, how better data could help policymakers compare sentences and outcomes across counties, and why transparency matters if Texas wants to know whether its justice system is truly working. Levin makes the case that Texas has already shown it can lower both crime and incarceration at the same time — but only if lawmakers keep focusing on reforms that are practical, measurable, and rooted in outcomes rather than rhetoric.

@MSearleATX @dbongino @catturd2 @RepThomasMassie @RonPaul Trump did what Ron Paul and Rand Paul never could. He ended the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Props? Trump also is realistic about global nuclear security. Paul and Massie would let us get burnt by the nuclear fire. They're overly ideologues, and not realistic enough.

@Ibrewlieve @JackPosobiec @zerohedge I would imagine a lot do. Not every one. But to dismiss this as a nothing-burger seems a bit strange. I bet the prosecution didn’t say “oh, well. No big deal.”

🚨 @patrickbetdavid breaks down the reality of the Iranian regime. It’s a regime that is very comfortable with killing 30,000 to 100,000 of its own people.

@JackPosobiec @zerohedge I see lots of people using this line. Either way, if true, it’s still a major blow to the prosecution. They can’t match the bullet to the gun. Kind of important

@dbongino @catturd2 He almost single-handedly passed a bill that was wildly popular with Americans with opposition and threats from the President, House and Senate leadership, and a large swath of connected donors. Show me another member who has done that on any issue. Thanks. Have a great evening

Ok. Have you looked out a window recently? Scrolled your X feed? I am pretty sure we are engaged in a regime change war in the Middle East right now which just so happens to be in the country that was at the top of the neocons list.. As for team player. Good. No honor in teaming up with people to protect pedophiles and start stupid wars

As part of the Future of Texas series in partnership with Texas 2036, this episode explores how rapid population growth is reshaping the state — and what it will take to manage that growth successfully over the next decade. In this episode of the @TXTalksPodcast, host @bradswail is joined by @henrygcisneros, former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and former mayor of San Antonio, and @AJRodriguez2036, Executive Vice President at @Texas2036, for a deep dive into the rise of Texas “mega regions” — particularly the fast-growing Austin–San Antonio corridor. Texas is at a pivotal moment. With the right planning, coordination, and investment, it could become one of the most dynamic economic regions in the world — but failure to act could lead to congestion, affordability crises, and missed opportunity.
