@Christophe19128 @TalkinYanks Oh, batting average is everything. Got it. Yes, opinions are like assholes. The difference is hard data of his overall performance tells a different story...like 4.0 WAR, leads MLB LF with 19 DRS (next is 8), but you know better he sucks, carry on

Cody Bellinger is going on the injured list with a hamstring strain. Spencer Jones has been recalled

@TalkinYanks I see a lot of people bad mouthing Spencer, but I haven’t seen any of the outfield doing that well Cody Trent Dominguez. He’ll fit in perfectly.

What exactly is Cody Bellinger attempting to do at the plate right now? It looks like he’s swinging a whiffle ball bat. Brutal.

Let me be more specific - Cody Bellinger’s bat has been a massive problem since Judge went down
Mark Sheplak@MSheplak

@ncostanzo24 Did you not read and understand the post that you responded to? Have you been watching the games? You do realize that he has a 3.8 WAR and 17 DRS (2nd in MLB)? Yes, he only has an OPS+ of 114. If this is how you define "massive problem", you don't understand baseball.

It wasn't overshadowed fir anyone watching that knows baseball. Dominguez & Bellinger saved this win as much as any reliever did yesterday. 2 amazing plays that got the ball back in so quick & accurate the Phillies couldn't have tried to score in a spot that they needed to.
Eric Hubbs@BarstoolHubbs

Play will get overshadowed by Schlittler and Headrick’s performances but Dominguez came up with this confident and quick with a missile to home. Hard to expect something like this last year

@ncostanzo24 @JC22PGA OPS in the last 15 days is .877, 2 weeks = 14 days, 3 weeks 21? The total package = best position player on the team not named Judge...by a large margin. Worth 42.5M? Fangraphs has a WAR = 12.8M. At 3.8, he already is plus value on the season.

@MSheplak @JC22PGA His July OPS is .620 and you’re saying he’s been good the last 3 weeks? He hasn’t homered since June 17. He has 4 XBH in a month. He has to be better

@ncostanzo24 @JC22PGA Again, reread what I said. HE HAS CLEARLY BEEN BETTER in the last 2-3 weeks and has been good in the clutch all season. It is undeniable. I provided you with hard data. What more to you want? Even last night, he was on base 2-4 times, saw 29 pitches. Good game.

The Yankees pay a ton of money for a bad baserunning center fielder who bats .220, and hasnt played good defense

@ChrisCoop_ No, again you are wrong. Jasson has 3X DRS compared to Volpe in ~75% of the innings played.

@MSheplak Oh it’s comparable for sure. In fact it’s even more egregious cause at least Volpe puts up value defensively Dominguez has been nearly absolutely useless.

I have to be honest I’m more angry with Jasson Dominguez than Volpe at this point in the season. Not only was Jasson a more highly touted prospect and for longer, he’s been near useless in all facets of the game this year with pretty extensive run. At least last year you could say he ended the year as an average hitter despite inconsistent playing time as a 22 year old. Now he’s a year older with more consistent time…has definitely improved in the field at right, but so much so that hes even at minimum competent out there yet? And his bat looks absolutely awful this year. No power no hit tool no plate discipline. So unbelievably disappointing so far. I’m very patient with young guys with good tools, so this isn’t me waving him off by any means. But you’d be completely dishonest with yourself if you were to say he hasn’t been an utter disappointment through his Yankee career so far on the field.

Cody Bellinger is the highest paid position player on the team and has a .525 OPS the past month. He has been a massive problem. He isn’t the only issue. But a lot of the others (Wells, Cabby/Volpe, Dominguez) can and will be replaced. Belli has to wake up and hit
JS@J_Styborski

@ncostanzo24 literally impacted the game with multiple defensive plays that took runs off the board in a 1-0 game, those constantly crying about Bellinger have no clue at what the biggest issues are with this team. Bellinger isn’t even in that conversation.

@jared_golds23 He and Belli both held the runner wt 3rd. Jasson's play was more impressive. Either time, if the ball is hit to CF, the runner scores as Grish has a terrible arm

@ChrisCoop_ Here is the arm strength numbers grade. Great range, poor arm strength, and only a a DRS =1. Throw in below average bat. Where is my analysis flawed? Simply put, not the answer at SS.

@MSheplak He has +6 OAA, using arm strength and ignoring the OAA bar above it is absolutely hilarious and you’re the exact type of person I’m talking about. So many ways to actually criticize the player while being honest and not making random shit up.

I'm so sick of having to get on this app and see the most braindead takes on our SS situation. But nothing new from the New York Compost who pays the world's dumbest people to talk sports because they get clicks. Anthony Volpe currently has, at SS: +6 OAA +4 FRV +1 DRS There is literally nothing that should tell you this guy has been a bad defender this year or throughout any healthy year of his career. It takes less than a minute to look this stuff up. "He has no relationship with Jeter that's a red flag" lol...you know the guy in the video is a clickfarming loser when the first argument he has to bring up is "no relationship with Jeter". Most obvious grab for those 40-50+ year old clicks I've ever seen haha. I'm not even here to say he's a good player I want on the team past this year lol. In fact many of my criticisms of this team throughout this year have focused around the inability to derive more value out of their home grown position players' bats outside of Rice. The misinformation parade in this discourse is just so fucking annoying. How, as a sports reporter, do you get something so blatantly wrong per his defense? Do you know how easy it is to have an honest discussion about the many things that haven't went well for this player and yet the choice of words are "he's not butt buddies with Jeter" and "he plays bad defense". Worst part is these people feel no shame about spreading misinformation to large audiences of people.
New York Post Sports@nypostsports

“He has no relationship with him? Hey Anthony, you wanna pick up the phone and call Derek Jeter? He’d return the call. He'd text you back. That's one red flag.” @adamschein has many an issue with Anthony Volpe remaining the starting shortstop for the New York Yankees. One of which came to light in Adam’s interview with the best SS in Bronx history. Watch Schein Time on YouTube: youtube.com/watch?utm_sour…
