May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and #MTCorrections would like to give a big shoutout to our mental health team! The DOC mental health team provides and supports compassionate, patient-centered care for inmates. Thank you all for your efforts and dedication!

Recently, #MTCorrections offered a reentry simulation to a Leadership Helena class. Led by MWP Warden Katie Weston, the simulation helps educate the public about how difficult life can be post-release and what they can do to support reentry.

In March, four #MTCorrections staff members attended the FBI Regional Crisis Negotiation Course. The course focuses on developing active listening skills to help reduce the risk associated with handling hostage, kidnapping, barricade, and/or suicide situations.

#MTCorrections staff members recognized National Child Abuse Prevention Month by placing blue pinwheels out front of MWP. Staff are passionate about raising awareness to this cause as a time to come together and take action to support strong families and healthier communities.
