Birds finally kick off the 2026 season with a home win vs Rock Island! Sauder and Adams combine to shutout the Rocks allowing 1 hit. The offense pounded out 13 hits, led by Crotz and Nee, 3 hits each. Petri and Smith each added 2 RBI.

Baseball open gym tomorrow has been cancelled due to extreme temperatures, no open gym Monday January 26th.

Birds drop a close one in extra innings vs Morton 0-1. Pitching dominated for both teams. Well played game we can build off of. Headed to Bloomington on Saturday.

Redbirds walk it off in extra innings to beat the Washington Panthers 3-2. Pitching was fantastic. Petri going 6.2IP,5H,2R,1BB,7K. Adams gets the win 1.1IP, 0H,1BB,1K. Lueddecke had a pair of hits, including the game winning hit in the 8th inning.

Today’s games vs Washington have been postponed until tomorrow.

Birds go on a long road trip in brutal conditions to get a win vs Champaign Central. Solid pitching and excellent defense today. Offense was led by Petri & Smith, each with 3 hits.

Birds win at home! The offense was led by Petri 4RBI, Lueddecke 3RBI and Bucy 2H. Sauder gets the win 6IP, 3H, 4BB, 8K’s. Cronkhite throws a perfect 7th, striking out the side.

Birds get the win! Petri was the player of the game throwing a complete game shutout, 7IN, 1H, 10K’s, 1BB. Lueddecke led the game off with a solo home run and that was all Petri needed. Back at it Monday!
