Much congratulations to senior Jordan Jackson! She will be attending Swarthmore College, majoring in Political Science and English Literature, while also playing softball! #nbcclassof2021

@GiftedTawk This would be amazing for our 6th graders who always do a Rube Goldberg unit! Would love if you’re willing to share.

Julia's #STEAMing up Learning!
Who says you can't do #STEAM projects on a Jamboard? Here's how your students can creatively design a virtual Rube Goldberg Machine, animate, and present it. Let me know if you're interested in using it. Thoughts? *Students can work in pairs to collaborate on a frame.

I shared this homonym Jamboard with students today. They found some simple and others quite challenging. They had to explain the word connection in each set of images. Are you interested?

Thinking about how I could introduce a lesson on customary measurement, and @saravdwerf’s words, “never say anything a kid could say,” I taped a ruler and a yardstick to the board and asked, “What’s the same? What’s different?” @IowaMathTeach

In case someone else was wondering. If you are using Google Classroom and want to share a Google Slides file (a weekly planner for example) in present mode (File > Publish to the web), you can share it as Material, and when Ss click on it, it will open in presentation mode.

@BMcClelland24 @ericcurts @JakeMillerTech Last year I always had to “remove student” for one of my students to leave at the end of our session. She could never find the button to leave. The next day, she was always able to sign back in, and I always used the same nickname.

Good morning! #GoogleMeet question: It's saying that if we force remove a student, they cannot return. Just checking that it's only for that particular session and won't affect future sessions. We're using the "nickname" route for domain privacy. @ericcurts @JakeMillerTech

Grateful for @MTSDsupt for ending almost every email by making sure we’re taking care of ourselves and stopping to smell the roses. 🌹

@MTSDMrsBrophy4 @BuildMathMinds Hi Stacy! I was just thinking about you a couple weeks ago. I see you’re still as enthusiastic about your work as you were in 2008. Kudos to you!

4 sessions into Building Math Fluency with @BuildMathMinds - I wish I could share it with every teacher and parent I know and everyone who says “I’m not a math person”. Math is so much more than getting the right answer.

@MrsAWills @TraciPiltz @ShaundelK @KSzajner You can always start the Meet with the same nickname (ex. your last name). As long as you start the Meet with that nickname, students logged in within the same school email domain will be able to access it. Best part - they can't get in until you've created the Meet.

I usually dismiss Ss from zoom so they can work independently. However, I stick around in case Ss want to stay in the call or log back on with questions w/ this image shared so there is no confusion (because there is always a lot of confusion with middle schoolers 😅).
