Trump doesn't understand Catholics. This is Trump’s blind spot: Trump’s financial and political successes are rooted in a personality cult surrounding the TRUMP brand. Even his preferred religious leaders are appointed solely because they are loyal to Trump first. Trump has failed to understand that Catholics have a greater allegiance to their Pope in Rome. Trump cannot compete with the Pope. Even when a Pope is mid-tier, Catholics will defend their Pope. Pope means “pop” or “dad” and while we may see flaws in our dad, he's still our dad. Historians will mark Trump’s attack on the Pope as one of the primary events that led to his downfall and the downfall of the Republican Party. The Midterms will be ugly. 2025-2026 was a triumphant year for Catholics with the first American Pope ever and a record-breaking increase in Easter conversions. Trump chose the absolute worst moment to throw darts at the Pope, publish profanity on Easter Sunday, and post himself as a “red cross doctor with glowing hands.” Trump cooked himself. He should have celebrated an American Pope and harnessed all the exuberant Catholic energy moving into 2026. But Trump shares the stage with no one. Instead, he attacked the one American who is more powerful and more popular than himself: the American Pope. Trump was blinded by his own (declining) aura.

Today is a great day for the Catholic Church to release the names of every single clergyman child sex predator worldwide and disclose the amount of settlements paid to the families they destroyed. It would make the Epstein files look like a grocery list in comparison.

Whenever Trump does something I don't get at first, I give it time and give him the benefit of the doubt (he's earned it!) The original poster is @NickAdamsinUSA, whom I've met, portraying Trump as healing a sick America. Now it's the responses making me cringe, not the post.

Your lovely agent, Marlon, responded to my online text and was very helpful in resolving the situation for my sick husband who cannot travel today (you definitely wouldn't want his germs on your plane). Shout out to my mom who has a bottle of Caladryl that's moved over 4,000 miles and expired in Dec 1991. I was 15 then. I'm 50 now. It expired before Bill Clinton ran for president,The EU formed, Apartheid ended in South Africa or you sent emails. I'm both proud and horrified.

Sadly, we moved. Making daily drives 1.5 hours to Missoula for two Februaries in a row for medical treatment was God's nudge to find an easier place to age out. I will always treasure the years we lived in the Bitterroot. It's my heart place. However the socialization that comes with living in an AZ over 55 active community has been a huge blessing for us. We hope to make a few more road trips to Montana. Lots to explore!

Our front courtyard started with a map on the ground. The hardscape is finished and now the actual landscaping begins. Lots of jackhammering, heavy equipment noise outside our windows as the landscaper puts in irrigations lines, moves boulders and begins transforming our yard into a beautiful AZ desert landscape. My husband and I are more than ready!
