Great opportunity to hear from @sherrywren today at the MUHC Global Surgery Conference (@MUHC_GSC). A thought provoking discussion about three strategies to help meet surgical needs worldwide as the divide between surgical demand and surgeon supply intensifies @cglobalsurgery.

As I listened to Dr @sherrywren 's session at the @MUHC_GSC, I found myself in her speech. Gender equity and access to surgery may seem unrelated to each other. As Dr. Wren pointed out in her talk, having more female surgeons can help decrease disparities in surgical access. 🧵

📢 "Start today ... don't underestimate your influence!" Dr. @ma_xiya @UdeM_Plastie gives a fantastic presentation on #Advocacy in #GlobalSurgery at @MUHC_GSC @cglobalsurgery, illustrating how advocacy in 🇨🇦 & 🌐 has resulted and can result in increasing and lasting impact.

Dr. @sherrywren shared the crucial need to integrate women into the solution on the needs for global surgery & provided suggestions on how to accomplish it. A great experience to have her not only sharing her expertise but also interacting actively with all the attendees!

Dr. Emilie Joos discussed on the vital of partnerships to improve results in global surgery; she prompted a great discussion with the audience! Nurse Nancy Branco addressed the relevance of teamwork, respect and engagement to achieve a successful result in any medical setting.
