I helped develop Coach K by attending his basketball camp in the late 80’s. Didn’t win a national championship until I went. You’re welcome Duke fans

Coach Scheyer “We’ve lost two unimaginable ways the last two seasons…. but we’ve had really good success in the tournament. It just hasn’t ended with a win the way that we want….The thing is we’re knocking on the door. We’re right there. We just got to continue to find ways to win in the margin, regroup with a different team for next year and not quit. We’re going to stay at it.” It’s only a matter of time Duke Nation. via @westwood1sports

Real leadership means showing up, sitting down, and getting to work. That’s how I’ve always approached the job and it’s how I’ve led here in Monroe. Now I’ll be straight with you. Leadership isn’t always easy. There are tough decisions to make and different perspectives to work through. But I’ve stayed focused, kept pushing forward, and never lost sight of who this is all about. Because this job isn’t about us. It’s about the people. And even when perspectives differ, we have a responsibility to lead, to find solutions, and to do what’s right. North Carolina doesn’t need more politics as usual. We need fresh thinking, real solutions, and a government that works for everybody, not just a select few. That’s the kind of steady, results driven leadership I’ll bring to this state. And I’m looking forward to sharing more with you soon about exactly how we’re going to get it done. Let’s build a North Carolina where opportunity is real, hard work pays off, and every family has a fair shot. That’s a future worth fighting for.
