Early this morning, my friend’s dad came to us complaining that he went to an ATM to withdraw money, but the machine refused to dispense cash. As he was about leaving, one man rushed to him and said, “Oga, the machine is dispensing now.” He then told him to rub the ATM card on his hair before trying again. My friend’s dad is bald, so the man collected the card, pretending he wanted to help rub it on his own hair for him. That was when he quickly swapped the card with another one and disappeared. The old man didn’t even realize what had happened until debit alerts started entering his phone nonstop. Not ordinary alerts o… serious debit alerts. I quickly checked the messages and noticed the transactions were being done through a POS machine. We immediately called the bank’s customer care, and the card was blocked. How do these scammers empty people’s accounts so quickly without knowing their pin? 😥

Forget court. Be honest with yourself, you’re not really fighting for the phone, you’re fighting for the disrespect and the betrayal, and the phone is just the symbol. Legally, gifts are usually still gifts even if your name is on the receipt, so dragging it to court might just cost you more stress, money, and time than the phone is worth. Emotionally too, it keeps you stuck in the same cycle with someone you already walked away from. The stronger move here is to cut your losses and move on properly. What hurts now will fade, but turning it into a long legal battle will keep reopening it.

I paid her school fees, helped her rent an apartment, and even bought her an iPhone for her birthday with my full name boldly written on the receipt. Because the phone was expensive, I linked a tracker to it in case it ever got stolen. Few months later, the tracker started showing strange locations. That was how I discovered she had been sneaking around with another man. One night, the location literally exposed everything 😭 I ended the relationship peacefully and simply asked her to return the phone since I was the one who bought it and my name is still on the receipt. Now her lawyer has sent me a letter saying the phone was a “gift given out of love” and legally belongs to her. So the same tracker I used for security ended up revealing heartbreak 💔 At this point, should I forget the phone and move on… or drag this matter to court out of pure pain and principle?

"Pls, I need serious advice. I know it's my mistake, but hear me out. A man came & proposed to me twice, & I rejected his proposal cuz I didn't have full information about his financial status. The guy was too impatient. Somehow he met my sister then went ahead & proposed her. Actually, he didn't know we're related. She accepted him so easily. They went ahead & got married. He only discovered when they came to see my parents for bride price that she's my little sister. The issue here is that the man is an accountant. He also runs businesses in the city. Her husband gives her sometimes close to 700k from the businesses & She'll give my parents 150k & her husband's mom 150k too. But to me, she's been stingy. She's very stubborn & boastful.
