Any suggestions for quality articles/resources on: 1. Testimonials of math teachers working though math probs (that they don't know the answers to) w/ their students 2. Teachers navigating demands on their time, stress, emotional well being, etc. ? @mathhombre @JavieRonquillo

@DrMikeWiser @djavko I heard someone suggest once to switch evaluations with someone you trust who can summarize the useful/relevant information for you. Then you can avoid having to read anything hurtful or irrelevant...sorry this happened!

So this evening I've been going through all of my student evaluations over the past year for my annual review. Overall, more positive comments from the students than negatives. But one thing I was really not prepared for.

The new draft of the @MathAMATYC statement on proctored testing is Very, Very Bad. The whole thrust of it is Categorically the Wrong Direction. I'm frankly horrified. @MathAMATYC, please reverse course completely.

@sbagley @SXhumari and I voiced serious concerns about this after the first draft. A pretty intense written critique and follow up in the online feedback session and this is what they came up with. Basically all we got was a change from “proctored testing” to “controlled assessment”

I've been spending a lot of time playing around with district maps for Michigan on @gerrymandr 's Districtr.org lately. The map drawing is super fun, it's easy for anyone to do, and they've included lots of great data layers
