Big news for Marlborough commuters & employers! After years of successful service connecting riders to and from the Southborough Commuter Rail Station, the Marlborough Commuter Shuttle Program is transitioning over to the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA). Is it extremely rewarding to see this pilot program evolve into a permanent service for our residents and business community. The new MWRTA service will follow similar routes and schedules, offering a smooth transition with no break in commuter access, beginning July 1, 2026. Swipe for FAQs regarding the transition of the Marlborough Commuter Shuttle. To learn more about the new MWRTA Marlborough Commuter Shuttle (MCS) please visit mwrta.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 28, 2026 MetroWest Regional Transit Authority Welcomes Millis as Newest Member Community The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) is pleased to announce that the Town of Millis has officially joined the Authority as its 17th member community. This partnership marks an important step forward in expanding regional collaboration and access to public transportation in MetroWest. MWRTA does not yet operate service in Millis, but looks forward to working closely with Millis town officials and residents to determine the transportation needs of the community. This will include providing outreach to community members and gathering input, identifying key destinations, and evaluating popular travel patterns. “The Town of Millis is excited to join the MWRTA, expanding access to vital transportation services for our residents. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the MWRTA in advancing this important goal within our community,” said Erin T. Underhill, Millis Select Board Chair. Joining MWRTA will provide Millis residents with access to jobs, education, healthcare, and additional essential services throughout the MetroWest region and beyond. “We are very excited to welcome the Town of Millis into the MWRTA family, and we look forward to working with the community to build service that meets local needs from day one,” said MWRTA Administrator Jim Nee. “As we begin service in the coming months, we will be exploring ideas like Dial-A-Ride services for seniors and people with disabilities, along with other opportunities that make sense for Millis. As always, our goal is simple: provide reliable, compassionate transportation that helps Millis residents stay connected, independent, and supported.” MWRTA is thrilled to continue its mission of keeping people moving by delivering reliable and accessible transportation options for communities throughout the region.
