This week, young workers from Usdaw took a trip to Parliament to meet with Minister for Employment, @DianaJohnsonMP and civil servants to discuss how to help younger people find and remain in work 💬 They had a tour of Parliament, bumped into Usdaw MP @tracygilbert72, and had a chance to discuss their concerns with @MWheelerMP, Chair of the Usdaw Parliamentary Group 🙌

Just some of the new rights at work heading your way today thanks to a Labour Government, the Labour-union link and the New Deal for Working People: 😷 Statutory Sick Pay from your first day off sick, ending the three day wait without pay. 💪 New, simpler union recognition rights. Making it easier for workers to get unionised.   🧑‍🍼 Paternity leave and unpaid parental leave from your first day on the job. 📢 New protections for whistleblowers.  Now let's finish the job and deliver the New Deal in full 🌹✊

This is my MP Michael Wheeler (Worsley & Eccles) I haven’t got a frigging clue how he voted on trial by jury and I don’t care because I’m not intending to commit any crime and certainly not one that would see me banged up for 3 years +

I know families in #WorsleyAndEccles are feeling the cost of living. I raised this with the Chancellor. Expanded free childcare, ending the 2-child cap & the Renters’ Rights Act are steps in the right direction. I’ll keep working for families in our community. 📹👇
