@PaprikaGirl_JP Thank you. I already know a few places that I must see: Kyoto, for the Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, gardens, cherry blossoms (I know it’s extremely crowded.), palaces, etc.; Hokkaido prefecture (by Shinkansen), Ainu culture, historical sites, etc.; and much more. 🇯🇵

@PaprikaGirl_JP Yes, it is. One of these days I’ll visit Japan again (for more than three hours!), and take part in a tea ceremony. Among other things, too! 😉

@MWillyG Thank you, Mark! Yes, this sort of “mystery” element to the tea ceremony is such fun the deeper you go.

Rounding the corner on this quiet lane in the morning sunshine, I must admit that I had to stop and rub my eyes a little. The verges shimmered, that lovely golden light picking out the trees and the grasses and the curving way ahead - and above it all, a floating farm?! You never know what you'll find in the Peak District countryside! 📍 Peak District, England

Spring Equinox in the Ancient Irish Calendar 🌿 In ancient Ireland, certain moments in the sky were believed to be especially meaningful. One of these was the Spring Equinox - the time when day and night are nearly equal. Beannachtai na hEarrach oraibh!

Happy vernal equinox! 🍀 Today marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. After today, the Sun will shine more directly on the Northern Hemisphere than on the Southern Hemisphere until the autumnal equinox.

Today is Shunbun-no-hi (春分の日), the vernal equinox. I’m enjoying an ogahi (おはぎ), a sweet often eaten on the equinox. This is a Seto Karatsu Yaki (瀬戸唐津焼) chawan. A perfect rainy day of tranquility while Kichijoji is crowded with tourists and “spring breakers.”
