The 2022 Colonials Girls Team…Tough

These two! So grateful to have them. Natick is lucky!

Couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this experience, these players, these coaches, these parents, and this league. It’s the honor of a lifetime. And now more great work begins as we get ready for the 2023 spring season. So thank you all. And let’s keep working to grow the game

Teach the game, teach life lessons, build their confidence and their relationships. And do it in a pressure free environment. And they’ll come back next year. Top goal for all our town programs that come together to form a league like MYL

A thread on our experience: The mission of Mass Youth Lax is to grow and honor the game of lacrosse. Period. There are lots of ways to do that. But our vision is through community based programs. Getting as many boys and girls to try this and giving them a memorable experience

…but were with us every step of the way. We played for everyone back home and tried to represent our state and our league in a way that made everyone back home proud. And I think we did that and then some.

But all of these contributors to our experience are not done. We are asking them to come back to Massachusetts, to continue to help grow the game at a community level. To spread the same level of excitement and positivity for the 20,000+ athletes who didn’t wear this uniform…

Our parents were incredible. The support, the camaraderie, the commitment to their sons and daughters, their positive spectatorship, and the way they raised 46 exceptional young men and women. These are terrific people who are now part of the Colonials family for life

Our coaches were extraordinary role models throughout and the players are a better having spent even a little bit of time with them.

And with the right people. And boy, did we have the right people. To a T, each player was a true embodiment of the mission of our league and they conducted themselves exceptionally and played ferociously.

This year, our 3rd time doing this, we brought unbelievable kids representing a huge number of towns to Texas. Not to try to go undefeated and win (certainly a lot of fun to win games), but to represent something bigger. Playing this game the right way for the right reasons

So as a league we ask “what can we do for those special players that commit to their programs throughout their entire youth.” And that’s where offerings like the Mass Bay Colonials come in. Every few years we want to do some special foe the towns and the players.

But then these players become tremendous athletes, brilliant players, passionate, and eager to push themselves to be the best they can be. The last thing we want is for them to sacrifice the town experience for another. They certainly can do both.

And that’s the final score, Colonials win 19-3 to end the Best of Texas Tournament 2-1-1. These girls represented Mass Youth Lacrosse so well over these 2 days!
