@the_fortson @mandylorianm Maybe the reading instruction the teachers are giving is completely ineffective (I.e. Sold a Story). And while said teacher is doing their best that teacher has been given poor resources and education at the university level and should quit white knighting for a broken system

@mandylorianm Sure. Blame the teacher for the fact a kid is in the 8th grade and reading on a 2nd grade level.
They get like 6-7 hours of reading instruction a week.
They are at the house with parents the rest of that time....kids who are successful read outside of school.

If you ever wonder why schools can only get 30% of kids reading, post about it and see these people swarm to tell you that everything is the parents’ fault.
You can show them the data about poor instruction and misplaced priorities.. and they don’t care. Sweet gig.
